Odium
|
Odium (Known in other regions as Gorky 17) is a survival horror turn-based strategy game with RPG elements.
The player controls a 3-man squad of NATO soldiers (Cole Sullivan, Thiery Trantigne and Jarek Ovitz) as they investigate a unnamed Polish Town, looking for any survivors from a previous NATO Squad that were sent in and find themselves battling strange monsters as they search for the answers to what's going on and how it relates to an old Soviet Military experiment base called Gorky-17.
The game is a turn-based mix of Survival Horror and Strategy game, with the player having to make due with limited supplies and manage items across their 3-man party. (Expanded to 4 and 5 at parts of the story with temporary party members.)
The game recieved several Metal-Gear inspired Prequels staring Cole Sullivan and switching the genre to a third person stealth game, Gorky Zero: Beyond Honor and "Gorky 02 Aurora Watching", released in America as Soldier Elite
The following weapons appear in the video game Odium:
M1911A1
The M1911 pistol series appears as the "Pistol".
IMI Uzi
The IMI Uzi appear as the "Uzi" and it fires in an 1X3 rectangle unlike most bullet weapons enabling it to hit multiple targets, oddly it is portrayed as more accurate than the M16 according to the manual. (Where it's listed as being more accurate than the M16 which is more accurate than the 1911.)
Shotgun
A seemingly generic shotgun that somewhat resembles a Benelli Super 90 appears as the "Shotgun" and it's 3D Model is shared with the M16A1 with the only difference being a different texture.
M16A1
What appears to be an old M16A1 Rifle or similar M16 rifle series weapon appears as the "Rifle", it is inaccurately called a "One-shot Rifle" (likely referring to semi-automatic) in the description, in-game it fires a single shot per turn like most weapons, it is the only firearm to lack it's own 3D Model, instead sharing the Shotgun's 3D model.
M67 Hand Grenade
The M67 Hand Grenade appears as the "Stun Grenade", according to the manual, it somehow "will put any monsters within range into a deep trance", how exactly it does this is unknown as the grenade seemingly explodes like any other, it inflicts the "tranquilized" (which is generally more like Paralysis and can be inflicted by a Taser) status effect on anyone in the blast and in one scripted optional sequence, it is seemingly used like a flashbang, being thrown into a room to force the occupatant to leave. (At which point they come out with their hands over their ears as if they were ringing.)
M75 Hand Grenade
What appears to be an M75 Hand Grenade appears as the "LT 135 MKII", it may be intended to be an Mk 2 hand grenade but the icon resembles an M75.
Rocket Launcher
An unknown Rocket Launcher appears as usuable weapon.
