Oba: The Last Samurai (2011)

Oba: The Last Samurai (Also known in Japan as 太平洋の奇跡−フォックスと呼ばれた男, Miracle of the Pacific: The Man Called Fox) is a 2011 Japanese-American war film based on the real life story of Captain Sakae Ōba (Yutaka Takenouchi), whom led a band of former IJA soldiers-turned guerrillas against the US Marines occupying Saipan.

Captain Sakae Ōba (Yutaka Takenouchi) can be seen with an FN Model 1910 sidearm at one scene. This is actually not unrealistic; Japanese officers often bought more reliable European pistols rather then domestic.

Walther PP

Captain Sakae Ōba (Yutaka Takenouchi) and other Japanese officers use the Walther PP. This is an odd choice, although it is possible that it was merely purchased as a custom sidearm from China. Many Japanese officers also bought their own sidearms over the standard issue Nambu.
