O Brother, Where Art Thou?

O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a 2000 American comedy-drama-musical film, written, produced, edited, and directed by the Coen Brothers. It is a loose retelling of Homer's epic poem The Odyssey, with the action relocated to the Depression-era American South. The film is perhaps most well-known for its well received period folk, country, bluegrass, and gospel-inspired soundtrack, which won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2002.
In 1937 Mississippi, convict Ulysses Everett McGill (George Clooney) escapes from a chain gang with fellow prisoners Pete (John Turturro) and Delmar O'Donnell (Tim Blake Nelson) in tow. With Ulysses convincing the others that a buried treasure lies hidden in his hometown, the trio embark on an adventure that has them crossing paths with interesting characters and tangling up in unexpected situations.

Browning Auto-5 riot guns are carried by the prison guards and some of the deputies.

Prison guards also carry 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotguns.
Remington 870
One of the Sheriffs carries a Remington 870, which is anachronistic for 1937. The somewhat similar looking and earlier Remington Model 31 would have been more appropriate.
M1928 Thompson
Several of the posse chasing the gang carries M1928 Thompson submachine guns. George "Baby Face" Nelson (Michael Badalucco) also carries a Thompson, referring to it as his "Choppa" and using it to fire on police and cattle, stopping and (rather realistically) clearing jams several times.
M1903 Springfield
The M1903 Springfield is seen in the hands of Cousin Wash's son (Quinn Gasaway).
