Nitti: The Enforcer
|
Nitti: The Enforcer is a made-for-television movie that originally aired April 17, 1988, on ABC, chronicling the life of Prohibition-era Chicago Outfit boss Frank Nitti. Also promoted as Frank Nitti: The Enforcer, the film was produced in the wake of the popularity of The Untouchables, which starred Billy Drago as a fictionalized Nitti.
The following weapons were used in the film Nitti: The Enforcer:
Pistols & Revolvers
Colt Detective Special
Frank Nitti (Anthony LaPaglia) borrows a Colt Detective Special from his bodyguard Charlie.
M1911A1
Several gangsters are armed with M1911A1 pistols. At one point, Al Capone (Vincent Guastaferro) takes Charlie's 1911 when swearing revenge for his brother, until Nitti (Anthony LaPaglia) calms him down and takes it from him.
Colt Police Positive
Crooked Chicago detective sergeant Harry Lang (Mike Starr) uses a Colt Police Positive to shoot Nitti.
Submachine Guns
M1928A1 Thompson
Several gangsters use the M1928A1 Thompson submachine gun, distinguished by its horizontal handguards rather than the vertical foregrips of the earlier M1921 and M1928 variants often associated with the "Chicago typewriter". All on-screen Thompsons have 50-round drum magazines.
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
Several gangsters are armed with double-barreled shotguns.
