The Mauser WTP was a pocket pistol made by Mauser between 1921-1938 (after 1938 it was renamed WTP I). WTP is short for the German "Westen Taschen Pistole", meaning "Vest Pocket Pistol". The Mauser WTP was chambered in 6.35mm / .25 ACP. In 1938, Mauser started production of the second model, the WTP II. More than 50,000 WTP I and WTP IIs were produced before 1940. After World War II, a small number of Mauser WTP IIs were produced in France.
Note: The WTP I and WTP II are also known as Model WTP 1 and Model WTP 2, but original Mauser designation used Roman numerals.
