Maniac Cop 2
Maniac Cop 2 is the 1990 sequel to the 1988's Maniac Cop. The film finds Matt Cordell (Robert Z'Dar), aka the "Maniac Cop", still seeking revenge for those who framed him. The cast includes Robert Davi, Claudia Christian, and Leo Rossi. The film was directed by William Lustig and was dedicated to Joe Spinell, who was to appear in this film as his character from the 1980 film Maniac before his untimely death.
The following weapons were used in the film Maniac Cop 2:
Calico M950
An NYPD officer is on the range with a Calico M950. Another one is left on a table before being taken by Cordell (Robert Z'Dar). In reality the NYPD or any other American police force has not adopted the M950 so it is likely a personal piece of the officer.
Colt Detective Special
In contrast to the first film NYPD detective Theresa Mallory (Laurene Landon) and police commissioner Edward Doyle (Michael Lerner) use 1st Generation Colt Detective Specials.
Colt M1911A1
Blum (Clarence Williams III) picks up a fallen officer's utility belt which still has the officer's nickel Colt M1911A1 in it when he and Turkel escape from the police station with Cordell
Colt Python
Det. Sean McKinney's (Robert Davi) main sidearm is a stainless steel Colt Python. An officer is also seen with on in the beginning.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
When infiltrating the prison Turkell (Leo Rossi) appears to be carrying a Smith & Wesson Model 10.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
Susan Riley (Claudia Christian), Maniac Cop (Robert Z'Dar), and other NYPD officers are armed with Smith & Wesson Model 15s.
Mossberg 500
In a flashback of the last movie's ending Theresa Mallory (Laurene Landon), Maniac Cop Matt Cordell (Robert Z'Dar), and a NYPD officer wield Mossberg 500s.
Rossi Overland
A drug addict robbing a store (an uncredited Marco Rodríguez) carries a Rossi Overland Sawn-Off Shotgun which is later used by Cordell to kill the cashier.
Unknown Shotgun
An NYPD officer in the beginning has a shotgun that is hard to see due to the lighting.
Unknown AK Rifle
A guard at Sing Sing has an AK Type Rifle but cannot be ID due to lack of screen time and no American police force would use or even own an AK variant.
