Kandahar Break is a 2009 British war film set in Afghanistan pre-9/11. Richard (Shaun Dooley ), a British engineer, is part of a company contracted by the Taliban government for mine clearance. When he falls in love with his interpreter, he runs afoul of the corrupt police chief (Rasheed Naz ) and tries to escape over the border to Pakistan. During his journey he comes across an anti-Taliban movement, and seeks refuge with them as he becomes a wanted man.
