Gilberte de Courgenay
|
Gilberte de Courgenay is a 1941 Swiss movie directed by Franz Schnyder and is about the Swiss woman Gilberte Montavon from Courgenay in the canton of Bern (today the canton of Jura), who became a patriotic cult figure. The film is considered one of the best films that the Swiss spiritual national defence has produced. In the winter of 1915/16, Artilleriebatterie 38 took up quarters in Courgenay. Initially thinking that by Christmas the war would be over and the army would be demobilized again, the men were disappointed not to be able to celebrate Christmas with their families. Gilberte, the innkeeper's daughter of the Hôtel de la Gare, organizes a Christmas party for these men and quickly becomes the idol of the soldiers.
The following weapons were used in the film Gilberte de Courgenay:
Rifles
Schmidt-Rubin Karabiner M1911
Swiss soldiers of the Artilleriebatterie 38 are issued with Karabiner M1911s.
Schmidt-Rubin Model 1911
Some Swiss soldiers also wield full-length Schmidt-Rubin Model 1911 rifles.
Karabiner 31
The anachronistic K31 Rifle is briefly seen carried by several soldiers.
Other
7.5 cm Krupp Feldkanone 1903
The Swiss variant of the German Feldkanone 1903 is used by the Artilleriebatterie 38.
Holster
A Major is seen carrying a Swiss Army holster for an Ordonnanzrevolver.
MG 11
The MG 11, the Swiss version of the Maxim machine gun, is seen transported in pieces.
