Smith & Wesson .38 Revolver (Non Gun)
Sheriff Paul Shields (Kevin Durand) uses a "Non Gun" Smith & Wesson .38 Revolver as his chief sidearm in the film. "Non Guns" are frequently used for scenes in movies or television shows in which the use of real weapons firing blanks is deemed unsafe. They are electronically-operated and discharge small explosive squibs that make a flash and produce smoke, but they do not eject shell casings or have any moving parts besides the trigger.
Glock 19
Deputy Donny Saunders (Lukas Haas) carries a Glock pistol in his holster in the movie, altough it changes into a "Non Gun" Beretta 92FS in the film for the latter part of the film. It is probable the Glock is a stunt replica or a non-firing replica since it is never seen out of it's holster.
Beretta 92FS (Non Gun)
Deputy Donny Saunders' (Lukas Haas) Glock changes into a "Non Gun" Beretta 92FS halfway through the film.
Remington 700 BDL
A trio of hunters use Remington 700 BDL rifles in the film. One the rifles turns into a "Non Gun" version when the hunter needs to fire his rifle in the film.
Remington 700 "Non Gun"
One of the hunters' uses a "Non Gun" Remington 700 rifle for firing scenes in the film.
AR-15 (Non Gun)
Sheriff Paul Shields (Kevin Durand) uses a "Non Gun" M4A1 near the climax of the film.
Remington 870 (Non Gun)
Ron (Billy Paterson) uses a "Non Gun" Remington 870 shotgun with wooden furniture in the film. Sheriff Shields later takes the shotgun from Ron, and hands it to Deputy Shields as they investigate Ron's stables. Earl Everheart (Nick Damici) also uses a "Non Gun" Remington 870 shotgun with wooden furniture to defend the church during the climax. Deputy Donny Saunders also uses a pistol-gripped "Non Gun" Remington 870 shotgun as his primary firearm and uses it to wound the creature during the climax.
