Chainsaw Man (Japanese: チェンソーマン, Chensō Man) is a 2022 Japanese anime television series produced by MAPPA and based on the ongoing manga series of the same name. The series takes place in an alternate 1997, in a world where powerful beings known as Devils are born and gain power from human fears, and follows the story of Denji, a Devil Hunter who is revived by the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita, by fusing with it and gaining its powers after nearly dying. After coming back to life, he is discovered by the mysterious Makima, who puts him into a government-run Devil hunting agency. The first season premiered on October 11, 2022.

The Colt M1911A1 pistol appears as the main weapon of the Gun Devil's followers. Several assassins attack the Public Safety Devil Hunters with 1911s in "Gunfire" (S1E08). At the same time, Katana Man (voiced by Daiki Hamano) attacks Denji, Himeno and the other Devil Hunters in the cafe with the Colt. During the battle in "From Kyoto" (S1E09), Kobeni (voiced by Karin Takahashi) and Sawatari (voiced by Yō Taichi) also use the 1911. Several Yakuza members loyal to Katana Man are also armed with the 1911 in "Mission Start" (S1E11) and "Katana vs. Chainsaw" (S1E12).
Criminals fire a revolver and pistol during Makima's narration of the origins of the Gun Demon in "Gun Devil" (S1E05). A man in the crowd chants with gun banner in the same sequence.
Several of the posters at the anti-gun protest during Makima's narration of the origins of the Gun Devil in "Gun Devil" (S1E05) contain AR-15-type carbines.
