Name of this page

I really think the term that should be used on this page should be "artillery" not "artilleries".

Artillery can be used as both a singular and plural term. Artilleries, while indeed the plural form of artillery, is much rarer and I would say more specific in its usage. Just as an example, you're more likely to read the sentence "the enemy has tanks and artillery" rather than "the enemy has tanks and artilleries". That being said, I'll give it a few days, and if no one has any objections, I'll move this page and rename it Anti-Tank Guns / Artillery / Howitzers. --PyramidHead (talk) 19:21, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

I think I've already proposed this, but couldn't we streamline this page (and its admittedly somewhat clunky name) by merging it with the Anti-Aircraft Guns / Autocannons page, under a broader "Cannons" category? That way, we wouldn't have these long, clumsy category titles, and we wouldn't have to worry as much about the weirdness that comes with classifying cannons (e.g. how an interwar-era 25mm cannon could be called an AT gun, but a modern 50mm cannon couldn't, or how some guns like the German 8.8cm FlaK series are designated as AA guns but were also used as AT guns, but then what is fundamentally the same gun on a Tiger II becomes an AT/infantry support gun exclusively, et cetera). We could still have subcategories on the page itself, but putting them all on a Category:Cannon page would, IMO, be an improvement. Pyr0m4n14c (talk) 19:47, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

I think it's a good idea to combine these pages. I myself create both categories and it's hard for me to classify it myself. I do not hide the fact that there is still a lot of "Unclassified Weapon" on the entire IMFDB page and every time I add something to the page I wonder about it myself.
