Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête) is a 2014 French romantic fantasy movie, directed by Christophe Gans . It is one of many adaptions of the famed fairy tale of the same name, starring Léa Seydoux as Belle and Vincent Cassel as The Beast.

One of Perducas' brigands carries a pistol with short buttstock. Such guns, not large enough to even be considered the shortest of carbines, are sometimes referred to as "Knee Pistols". They were especially popular in Ottoman Empire, the Balkans and in North Africa.
