Atonement

Atonement is a 2007 British drama film directed by Joe Wright based on the novel of the same name written by Ian McEwan. The film consists of three parts linked by flashbacks. They take place in the mid-1930s at an English country estate, in 1939/1940 during World War II in London and in the Franco-Belgian war zone, and in the late 1990s in a television studio. The story tells of a fateful misunderstanding and its tragic consequences for two daughters from a wealthy family and the family's protégé.
