Rifles Mosin Nagant M1891 Both Red and White Army soldiers carry original Mosin Nagant M1891 rifles, generally fitted with bayonets. Infantry and Dragoon versions of the rifle can be seen. M1891 rifles, fitted with sword bayonets, are used by Imperial German infantry instead of their service Mauser Gewehr 98 rifles (Note : While this substitution was supposedly caused by the lack of Mausers, it has some historical truth as numerous captured Russian rifles were converted for using German 7.92 mm cartridges and fitted with German-style sword bayonets. In such configuration former M91s found some service.).
