Afghanistan: Last War Bus
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Filmed in Italy, the film is about a Green Beret who enters Afghanistan trying to find "documents lost by his father during the fall of Iran. He ends up having to drive to the Pakistani border in an old school bus.
The following weapons were used in the film Afghanistan: Last War Bus:
Zastava M70
The Zastava M70 is seen in the hands of most "Soviet" conscripted troops. It is also used by Afghan bandits and Johnny Hondo (Mark Gregory) when his MP5 runs out of ammo.
SKS
a Yugoslavian version of the SKS is another common weapon of the "soviet" conscript troops. In the film the sound of the M70 is used instead of the sound of a single shot.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Johnny Hondo's main weapon during the film is an early model Heckler & Koch MP5A3 fitted with what looks to be a blank firing device on the muzzle. Used totally from the hip when fired. Linda Cain (Savina Gersak).
M1911
Johnny Hondo uses a M1911 throughout the film. Before the mission starts his dying father gives him his personal M1911. During the supply depot raid Johnny Hondo gives the M1911 to Kaber and almost gets himself killed by a Spetsnaz officer. Latter Captain Bowie steals the pistol from Kaber and holds it on Johnny Hondo when it is revealed that it is not documents that they are carrying but gold.
RPK
A RPK light machine gun is used during Johnny Hondo's first rescue mission by the "Soviets". Later it is used as a doorgun on Mi-17 "Hip" assault helicopters.RPK light machineguns were used in such a roll in Afganistan by the Soviets. May in fact be a Crvena Zastava M72B1 light machine gun but the image is unclear.
M57 Rocket launcher
Johnny Hondo uses a Yugoslavian M57 Rocket launcher sans rocket to destroy a squad of "Soviet" conscripts during his first mission into Afghanistan. latter the Spetsnaz officer tries to use the same Rocket launcher to destroy the bus and only sets it on fire.
M16A1
Two M16A1 rifles are seen hanging up in the forward base in Pakistan.
M60 Machine Gun
An M60 machine gun is seen sitting under the M16A1 rifles.
Mosin Nagant Rifle
the Mosin-Nagant M91/30 rifle is rarely seen in the film. Some "soviet" conscripts are seen with Mosin Nagant rifles. This would be an anachronism as by that time the rifle was long out of service.
Mossberg 500
Johnny Hondo's credit card is a Sawed-off Mossberg 500. In the film he uses it to shoot down a Soviet Mi-17 "HIP" assault helicopter.
- This actually appears to be a Remington Model 31 shotgun. - Gunmaster45
PKMT
The Soviet MB-LT Armored Vehicles are armed with a single PKMT Machine gun.
Unknown Mortar
The Soviets use what looks like an 82mm Mortar to try and stop the bus before it gets started.
