M4?

- Not to be a nitpicker, but the 'M4' entry is questionable - I don't believe the M4 was actually even adopted for service in 1992, and I'd like to think it's quite probable that it wasn't readily available as a movie gun in 1992, rubber prop or otherwise. Granted neither screenshot gives us any decent showing but I still think it's very unlikely the guns in the movie are M4s. Isn't it more likely it could be an earlier Colt Commando carbine of some sort (such as the 653), and list it as such? StanTheMan 00:08, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes. Ben sometimes IDs any AR carbine as an M4. I've since told him otherwise. -MT2008 22:05, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
"Hey! Check out those M4s in The Dogs of War and Platoon"!!! LOL......... MoviePropMaster2008 15:59, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I wasn't trying to be annoying, it's just something I noticed. Arguably it's all your fault that the site provided me with the insane amount of M16 info in the first place. :b I noticed it was him who changed it so I would say he's learning. Anyway that's outta the way, I have another thing - The naval cannon entries. Now, I like Naval guns quite a bit myself, but should they be on the page? I think they may be a bit out of scope. Though I've seen other things listed (like the AA gun on Behind Enemy Lines) but in those few cases there are screenshots showing them, so with that said, perhaps those sections could also have screenshots showing them, if those entries are allowed to stay at all of course. While we're on naval ordnance, since the USS Alabama stood in for the Missouri, all shots except the stock shots of the 16-in guns would be 16"/45 Mark 6's. --funkychinaman 21:02, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
On that subject, shouldn't we by extension of the "use the real name for guns" rule be calling her the Alabama rather than the Missouri on this page? Evil Tim 02:04, 17 September 2011 (CDT)
I'd say no, since there's a note on the page, the Alabama is a ship and much of the film was shot on soundstages, so it would just be needlessly confusing. --Maxman (talk) 20:26, 10 January 2016 (EST)
