Boomtown was a television police crime drama set in Los Angeles that aired on NBC for two seasons from 2002 to 2003. In each episode of the series, the circumstances of a particular crime are seen from different points of view, which include those of the police, the criminal, the witnesses, and the attorneys. The series, whose cast included Donnie Wahlberg, Mykelti Williamson, and Neal McDonough, was created by Graham Yost, the writer/producer whose credits include Speed, Band of Brothers, The Pacific and who subsequently created the series Justified (several Boomtown cast members would subsequently make appearances in the latter series).
The following weapons were used in the television series Boomtown:
The standard sidearm of the LAPD at the time was the Beretta 92FS and was mainly seen used in the series by LAPD Officer Ray Hechler (Gary Basaraba) and Officer Tom Turcotte (Jason Gedrick).
A Glock 17 is used by Vadim Solonick (Mark Ivanir) in "The Freak" (S1E06). Spath (Brian Goodman) is seen threatening Les with a Glock 17 in "Insured by Smith & Wesson" (S1E07).
Reggie Flood (Fredric Lane), one of the men that take over the sporting goods store, is seen with wielding a Walther PPK in "Insured by Smith & Wesson" (S1E08).
In "Insured by Smith & Wesson" (S1E07), former action star Les Van Buren (Joe Penny) is loading and using what appears to be a classic Smith & Wesson Model 60.
The Mossberg 500AT shotgun is the shotgun used by LAPD officers in the series. Fearless takes a Mossberg from a clerk to use during the motel shootout in "The Freak" (S1E06). Officer Hechler is seen with one in "Coyote" (S1E07).
A home invasion suspect is seen carrying a Remington 870 with a sawed barrel and stock, which is later used by Henry Stein (Joe Spano) "Home Invasion" (S1E13).
Russian mobsters are armed with AKMSUs when they come to the hotel to take out Fearless and a female witness in "The Freak" (S1E06). Gang members are seen armed with the AKMSU in "Execution" (S1E14).
