Looking at the first picture of it, the gun looks to me like an HK VP70. I know it can't be, but is it possible it's cast or otherwise based on an HK handgun with the same profile? --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 01:28, 8 August 2014 (EDT)

The first pistol, manufactured by HK, appeared in 1967 (it was HK 4). Hardly Japanese film makers were admitted to see HK drawing boards. Greg-Z (talk) 03:06, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
