The Skull Man is an anime television series based on the 1970 manga of the same name by Shotaro Ishinomori. The show consists of 13 animated episodes and one live-action prequel episode (Episode 00) titled "Skullman: Prologue of Darkness".
The following firearms are used in the anime series The Skull Man:
The Skull Man's weapon of choice is a Mauser M712 Schnellfeuer as denoted by the selector switch on the side of the frame. He only uses the semi-auto setting and never switches to full-auto, and uses the shorter 10-round box magazines.
Kyōichirō Tachigi, a private investigator, carries a Nambu Type 14 pistol. Other Nambu Type 14s are seen throughout the series in the hands of various minor characters.
The Ōtomo City Chief of Police is seen with a Walther PPK/S near the end of the series. Another PPK/S is seen in Episode 00 in the hands of a turncoat Ōtomo Concern researcher.
By far the most prolific submachine gun in the series is the MP40. Whenever members of the White Bell cult arm themselves, it is almost always with this weapon.
The solders sent to quarantine Ōtomo City near the end of the series are armed with Howa Type 64 rifles. As the series is set in the 1980's, this would still be the standard-issue rifle for the Japanese military.
Two separate but similar double barreled shotguns are seen in the series. The first is used by an assassin posing as The Skull Man, and has had both its stock and barrels sawed off. The second is part of Gōzō Kuroshio's personal collection, and appears to be unaltered.
The American Garo tasked with finding both the Skull Man and the Garo working for him use a pair of M72 LAW rocket launchers to blast their way into the church.
