Sisi is a 2009 two-part television movie about Empress Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary. In a politically explosive time, the paths of the liberally educated, fun-loving Elisabeth and Franz Joseph, who was educated according to strict military standards, cross. It is love at first sight and Franz makes the decision; unusually emotional and against the will of his strict mother, Archduchess Sophie; to take Sisi as his wife. After a luxurious wedding in Vienna, Franz Joseph is soon completely absorbed by the court and the freedom-loving Sisi has to struggle not only with the oppressive monarchy but also with her mother-in-law, who has no understanding of her unconventional way of life. While Sisi is mentally and physically at the edge of her strength, the empire faces huge challenges. It is only thanks to Sisi's great popularity with the people, her liberal influence on Franz Joseph, and her advocacy of the Hungarian cause that the country does not fall apart.
The following weapons were used in the miniseries Sisi:
Austrian, French, and Sardinian soldiers during the Battle of Solferino are seen with Lorenz Rifles. French soldiers were actually armed with the Modèle 1853 or 1859 Percussion Rifles.
Prussian soldiers in the background during footage made of paintings of the 1866 Battle of Königgrätz carry rifles which appear to be Dreyse Füsiliergewehr M1860 rifles equipped with Füsilier-Seitengewehr M/1860 bayonets.
