Dunkirk Christopher Nolan that tells the story of the evacuation of surrounded British, Belgian and French troops from Dunkirk in 1940 (Operation Dynamo ). The film's cast includes Tom Hardy , Mark Rylance , Kenneth Branagh , Fionn Whitehead , Jack Lowden, Cillian Murphy and One Direction member Harry Styles . The story had previously been told in a similarly-named 1958 film Dunkirk Note: The screenshots seen here will be of varying sizes due to the change in aspect ratio throughout the film.
