Wrongfully Accused is a 1998 satirical film comedy in the tradition of The Naked Gun and Airplane! film series. Chiefly a parody of The Fugitive (1993), Leslie Nielsen stars as Ryan Harrison, a concert violinist who finds himself a murder suspect after awakening next to a dead body. The film was directed by Pat Proft, who had written or co-written many of the films in the genre, including The Naked Gun trilogy and three films in the Scary Movie film series. The cast included Richard Crenna, Kelly LeBrock, Melinda McGraw, and Michael York.
The following weapons were used in the film Wrongfully Accused:
Handguns
Smith & Wesson Model 659
When Ryan is in the fishing store in the village of Hilltop (famous for having "more police per capita than any other place in the world") he encounters (along with former America's Most Wanted host John Walsh) a California Highway Patrolman named Sergeant McMacDonald (Duncan Fraser), who can be seen drawing what appears to be an older-model Smith & Wesson 659 without an ambidextrous safety. Ryan thinks that it is him that is under arrest, but in reality, McMacDonald is going after another man who looks like the wanted poster of himself which he defaced to cast off suspicion from himself.
Submachine Guns
Calico M955A (as the "M1-L1 triple-pulse rifle")
Sean Laughrea (Aaron Pearl) uses a multi-barreled weapon that in reality is the "Chinese M1-L1 triple-pulse assault rifle" that had previously been used in the film Deep Rising (which also was released in the same year).
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
A Heckler & Koch MP5A2 with SureFire dedicated forend weaponlight used by Lieutenant Fergus Falls (Richard Crenna) as well as SWAT officers.
Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW
Ryan Harrison (Leslie Nielsen) finds a Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW in his hand after he awakens to a murder scene.
Shotguns
Ithaca Model 37
An Ithaca 37 is used by a state trooper.
