Boomtown was a television police crime drama set in Los Angeles that aired on NBC for two seasons from 2002 to 2003. In each episode of the series, the circumstances of a particular crime are seen from different points of view, which included the cops, criminals, witnesses, and the lawyers. The series, whose cast included Donnie Wahlberg, Mykelti Williamson, and Neal McDonough, was created by Graham Yost, a writer whose credits include Speed, Band of Brothers, The Pacific and who subsequently created the series Justified.

A home invasion suspect is seen carrying a Remington 870 with a sawed barrel and stock, which is later used by Henry Stein (Joe Spano) in Season 1's "Home Invasion".
