Talk:Smith & Wesson 1076
Let me apologize for my very basic post. I'm not used to the interface yet and didn't want to muddy the entry with poorly coded links.
I just finished watching the Twin Peaks episode (SN 2 EP 18) that features the 1076, I believe the only appearance of a 1076 in film or TV. i was very disappointed to find that the prop was not a 1076, but a full size (5") barrel third generation pistol. As the pistol is handed to Cooper the slide mounted decocking lever is clearly seen in the depressed, safe, position. Given the size of the pistol it must be a 1006 or 4506. I think 4506 is much more likely given its ability to use .45 ACP blanks. Crockett's Bren Ten in Miami Vice were .45 ACP not 10mm, so it seems likely that this is a 4506.

I see that this weapon has a spurless hammer. Is it DAO or is it just DA/SA with a recessed hammer like the 6906 and 3913.
Code
The 4.25" barreled 1076 was the gun chosen by the FBI as its standard issue gun for the 10mm Auto cartridge. The F.B.I. guns differ from civilian 1076s in that they were not equipped with the standard S&W magazine-disconnect and are so marked.
