Behind Enemy Lines
The following guns were used in the film Behind Enemy Lines:
Beretta 92SB
Both Stackhouse (Gabriel Macht) and Lt. Chris Burnett (Owen Wilson) have Beretta 92SB handguns as their sidearms. When the two of them first crash land in Bosnia after their F/A-18F Super Hornet is shot down, Stackhouse is discovered by the Serbs. They take his weapon and question him. After that, a Serb sniper named Sasha (Vladimir Mashkov) uses the pilot's own weapon to execute him, and then uses it to shoot at Burnett when he is discovered. Burnett later uses his Beretta 92SB to shoot and injure Sasha near the end of the film. This model of the Beretta won the airforce trials and is accurately portayed as used in the film. Note how it has a rounded trigger guard front. The later models such as the 92F and 92FS would incorporate the curved trigger guard later on. The use of this handgun also would seem to depict that this film is set around the same time as USAF Captain Scott O'Grady crashed in Bosnia, in which this film is loosely based.
Beretta 92FS
In addition to the Beretta 92SB's mentioned above, a few Beretta 92FS pistols can also be seen, most notably when the Marines are gearing up for the rescue mission aboard the Harry S. Truman.
CZ 75B
The Serbians use CZ-75B handguns as their sidearms. It is most notably seen when Sasha (Vladimir Mashkov) uses his to fire at Burnett (Owen Wilson) when he is first discovered by the Serbs. He also uses it later on to detonate an unexploded landmine.
CZ-52
In the scene were Lt. Burnett enters the mall that the Serbian troops are attacking, he enters an area were several civilans are hiding, one of them questions him while holding a CZ-52 up to his chest before the area is hit by a round fired by a Serbian tank.
Sig Sauer SSG 3000
Throughout the film, Sasha can be seen carrying a Sig Sauer SSG 3000 sniper rifle with folding bipod as his main weapon, firing on Burnett with it several times as he persues him across Bosnia, though never scores a fatal shot. While similar in appearance to other sniper rifles such as the Sako TRG-22 and CZ-750, the molded magazine well clearly distinguishes it.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Several of the Serbian soldiers seen throughout the film can be seen carrying Heckler & Koch MP5A3's.
Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW
The General of the Serbian troops, Miroslav Lokar (Olek Krupa) carries a Heckler & Koch MP5K throughout the film.
Mosin Nagant
At the end of the film when Burnett (Owen Wilson) is being rescued by the U.S Marines, A Serb sniper with a heavily Camouflaged Mosin Nagant attempts to shoot Burnett while he's running back to the helicopters, but before he can fire, he is taken out by a Marine sniper.
It can't be a mosin-nagant. When he is shot and falls back, the magazine well is shown to be flat, not extended and curved.
The rifle this soldier is using is a CZ 700 or 750. The movie was made in Czech Republic (or Slovakia) and they used the weapons that are in that country, except for a few possibly Yugo AK's for the Serbs.
AK-47
While hunting for Burnett, at least one Serbian soldier can be seen carrying a genuine AK-47 rifle.
- Don't use this picture again. Most of the "genuine" AK-47s in circulation look nothing like it.
Zastava M70B2
During flashbacks to the ethnic cleansing scene that took place at the beginning of the film, several Serbian soldiers can be seen using Zastava M70B2 assault rifles to slaughter civilians that would fill the mass grave Burnett and Stackhouse are later shot down for discovering. The M70B is the Serbian AKM copy and differs primarily in that it has a folding sight for launching grenades in front of the gas tube, which is clearly visible in the screencap below. The B1 is fixed stock and the B2 is folding stock.
AKM
Many of the Serbian soldiers can be seen with AKM rifles throughout the film. A couple are also seen being carried by civilians Burnett encounters, including a young man who accompanies Burnett in his attempt to reach the extraction point. Burnett also comandeers one of these weapons from a dead Serbian soldier and uses it for most of the remainder of the film.
Sa vz 58
Along with the AKM, many of the Serbian soldiers can also be seen carrying Sa vz 58 rifles, most notably in the scene where Burnett is navagating the minefield. A pair of Serbian soldiers brandishing Sa vz 58 rifles spot him and give chase, unaware of the minefield until they trigger it, killing them and destroying their rifles.
AKMSU
Yet another weapon used by the Serbians is the AKMSU carbine. It is carried by Bazda (Marko Igonda) most of the time.
M40 Sniper Rifle
The Remington PSS700 sniper rifle also appears in the film carried by U.S Marines in several scenes.
Not a real accurate way of confirmation, but, that doesn't look like aan M40. Most likely a CZ550 varmint heavy bbl.
Browning M2
In the scene where Stackhouse is captured, some of the Serbian vehicles arriving on the scene can be seen with American-made Browning M2 heavy machine guns mounted on them.
SVD Dragunov
Another Weapon of the Serbs is the SVD Dragunov Sniper Rifle. It is briefly seen in the hands of several of the troops chasing Burnett into the graves.
FAMAS-F1
The FAMAS-F1 can be seen briefly in the hands of the French Special Forces troops in the Savior Six helicopter.
Unknown Sniper Rifle
One of the French Special Forces Troop in the Savior Six helicopter can be seen with a Sniper Rifle of unknown make or model.
M16A2
In several scenes, U.S. Marines can be seen armed with M16A2 assault rifles, most notably at the climax of the film, when Marine forces rescue Burnett (Owen Wilson).
- Barrel's too short, plus it has an A1-style rear sight. It's more likely a Colt Model 653 or 654 (CAR-15) carbine.
GE M134 Minigun
When the U.S Marines rescue Burnett at the end of the film, several UH-1 Huey Gunship helicopters armed with GE M134 Miniguns can be seen firing at the Serbian forces trying to kill Burnett.
M60D Machine Gun
When the U.S. Marines rescue Burnett at the end of the film, several M60D machine guns can be seen door-mounted in UH-1 Huey Gunship helicopters.
NSV Heavy Machine Gun
In some scenes, a few of the T72 tanks operated by the Serbians can be seen with NSV heavy machine guns mounted on the Tank Commander's hatch on top of the turret.
