Kissin' Cousins is an American 1964 musical comedy directed by Gene Nelson and starring Elvis Presley in two roles: an Air Force officer Josh Morgan, and his look-alike cousin Jodie Tatum. Tatums hillbilly family lives in Smoky Mountains. The US Government plan to lease Tatums land for constructing an ICBM missile base, and Capt. Robert Salbo gets the order to secure the lease in short time. He requests Tatums' distant cousin U.S. Air Force pilot 2nd Lt. Josh Morgan for negotiations.
The following weapons were used in the film Kissin' Cousins:
Capt. Robert Salbo (Jack Albertson) and Master Sgt. William George Bailey (Tommy Farrell) carry M1911 pistols (flat mainspring housings on the rear of the grip allow to differ them from M1911A1s).
Tatums family use several Springfield 1861 rifled muskets converted into Trapdoor breech loading rifles - version, known as Allin Conversion Model 1866 Trapdoor. These guns are seen in hands of sisters Selena (Pamela Austin) and Azalea (Yvonne Craig) Tatum, their cousin Jodie (Elvis Presley) and Ma Tatum (Glenda Farrell).
2nd Lt. Josh Morgan's North American F-86 Sabre fires its Browning M3 machine guns. It's hard to say if this an actual footage of real firing machine guns, or acetylene-powered mockups are used, as it is often seen with aircraft guns, firing on screen.
Various jet planes, cruise missiles and ICBMs are seen on photos in a newspaper.
