Vietcong Fist Alpha Expansion Pack (2004)

Vietcong is a tactical first-person shooter video game (Pterodon & Illusion Softworks). It was released in March 2003, and set during the Vietnam War. It is both single and multi user platform and is PC based.


The following list contains all the weapons that can be used in the original Vietcong and its expansion pack, Fist Alpha:




Handguns

.38 Revolver

Described as a chinese copy of some Colt revolver (probably a Mod.1910). Is the main handgun of the VietCong; particularly prevalent in the tunnel levels.

Smith & Wesson Mark 22 Model 0 (S&W 39)

Seen with silencer aka "Hush Puppy", in game share the same .45ACP ammunition of the Mod.1911 instead of the real 9x19 NATO/Parabellum.

Colt M1911A1

Tokarev TT-33 (Tokarev)

Standard siderarm of the North Vietnam Army. Not so easy to find in standard single player campaign, in "Fist Alpha" is more common. Also is a standard equipment of "Fighter" and "Sapper" classes in multiplayer.

Submachine Guns

M3 A1 Grease Gun (US-M3)

U.S. machine pistol. In the single player campaign is often used by Local Viet Cong fighters.

Thompson M1-A1 (M1 Thompson)

U.S. main submachine gun, the first selecteble automatic weapon, widely used by us soldier in he single player campaign. Its main characteristics are the higt fire rate and the short reload time.

Sten Mk. IIS

This weapon is fitted with a sound suppressor; available in the Fist Alpha expansion

PPSh-41

Samopal Vzor 1961 or Vz.61 (Skorpion)

A compact Checkoslovakian weapon with an hight fire rate and easily in full auto, due the reaction of the 7,65x17 Browning cartridge. Available in the Fist Alpha expansion. Note: the name "Skorpion" or "Scorpion" was used only after-market term used by the '90, as a secondary name of the SA 361 machine pistol and SA 91s civilian pistol

Rifles

Winchester M1 (M1 Carbine)

Widely used by the ARVN soldiers and sometimes by VietCong fighters, fitted with a detacheble M1 knife bayonth

Colt M16-A1 (M16)

Main U.S. Army assault rifle, fitted with a detacheble M7 knife bayonette. In game this rifle uses 20 round magazines loaded with 18 rounds: that was really made to avoid jamming in the first model of this rifle.

Springfield Armory M14 (M14 Rifle)

Available only in the Fist Alpha expansion, also fitted with a ART optical sight and used by U.S. Army sniper

Springfield Armory M1D (M1 Garand)

The scoped M1D variant is the standard U.S. Army sniper rifle in the original game

Winchester Model 70

A .30'06 caliber bolt-action hunting rifle, inserted in game without scope. In the Vietnam War this rifle was often used by U.S. Army and US Marine Corp sniper (like the legendary Carlos N. Hathcock)

Simonov SKS-45 (SKS rifle)

Soviet battle rifle with non-detacheble 10 round magazine, reloadeble only if totally empty. Fitted with a under-barrel folding spike bayonette. Used by VietCong fighter and North Vietnam Army (NVA) soldier.

Kalashnikov AK-47 (AK-47)

Tokareve AVT-40 (SVT-40)

Available only in Fist Alpha expansion, also fitted with a PU optical sight and used by Regional Vietcong sniper. Strangely is equipped with a 20 round magazine and it had the capability to fire in full automatic mode, more likely an AVT-40.

Mosin Nagant Mod.1891/38 (Mosin Nagant)

WW2 military bolt-action rifle, used by Local VietCong sniper and fighter
