Colt Anaconda
The Anaconda was remarkable for two reasons when it was introduced in 1990. The first point was that it marked Colt returning to manufacturing a large frame double-action revolver since the Colt New Service was discontinued in 1946. The other point was the Anaconda was the first 44 Magnum revolver to be manufactured by Colt in it's history. A latecomer to the 44 Magnum the Anaconda initially had some teething problems, but a redesign of the barrel fixes it and it gained a reputation for one of the most accurate mass produced 44 Magnum revolvers on the market. The revolver was only available in stainless steel. Though the mass production of the Anaconda ended in 1999 the model was still available through the company's custom shop until 2003. On 22 March 2021 Colt announced the re-introduction of the Anaconda. Like the 2020 Python the 2021 Anaconda has a slightly larger frame than the original and a more simplified action designed to withstand the stress of magnum loads to a greater degree.
