Hard Hunted is a 1992 action movie, the story revolving around a stolen nuclear detonator hidden inside a jade statue. In order to prevent this device from falling into the hands of crime lord Kane, the US government sends a team of beautiful but lethal female agents to retrieve the device.
Interesting trivia is that most leading female actors are ex-Playmates and that two male actors are sons of well-known actors. Dona Speir (Donna) was Playmate in March 1984, Roberta Vasquez (Nicole) in November 1984 and Cynthia Brimhall (Edy) in October 1985. Tony Peck (Lucas) is the son of Gregory Peck and Geoffrey Moore (Kane) is the son of Roger Moore.
The movie is directed by Andy Sidaris as part of his “Bullets, Bombs and Babes” (a.k.a. “L.E.T.H.A.L. Ladies”) film series. These action movies, mostly filmed in Hawaii and featuring a cast mostly made up of Playmates, focus on the adventures of a team of secret agents. For more movies check the “See Also” section.
The following weapons can be seen in the movie Hard Hunted:
Lucas (Tony Peck), director of the secret agency, carries a Smith & Wesson 622 as his side-arm during the mission in Hawaii. It can be distinguished from the stainless-steel Model 2206 by the alloy frame that has a different tone than the stainless steel slide.
Nicole (Roberta Vasquez) uses a Davis P-32 during the gyrocopter attack in Arizona. It might also be the (identical looking) P-380 version but for the sake of identification a P-32 is assumed.
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is used by one of Kane’s thugs plus by Donna and Cole (Buzzy Kerbox) at the remote Pacific island where both are being kept in captivity.
Taurus Model 85
Several of Kane’s thugs are armed with the Taurus Model 85 during scenes aboard his yacht. On the remote Pacific island, both Pico (Rodrigo Obregón) and Skip (Skip Ward) are seen using one.
Donna finds a 12 Gauge Orion Flare Gun in the storage compartment of the water scooter that she escapes the Pacific island with.
Unidentified Pistol
A crew member of Kane’s yacht (uncredited actor) carries an unidentified pistol when he’s shot after discovering a thief stealing valuables from the yacht’s vault.
Unidentified Pocket Pistol
Radio host Ava (Ava Cadell) removes an unidentified pocket pistol from her lingerie before she begins her show. The grooves on the slide and rear sight can be clues.
Unidentified Revolver
One of the two sheriffs responding to the Arizona gyrocopter attack employs a revolver that cannot (yet) be conclusively identified.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch SP89
A Heckler & Koch SP89, converted to automatic, is used by a thug at the Molokai airport (uncredited actor), assassins Coyote (Richard Cansino) and Wiley (Chu Chu Malave) plus by Nicole at the remote island.
Uzi
An Uzi is used by both Raven (Al Leong) as well as by an uncredited thug during the shootout at the remote Pacific island.
Intratec TEC-22
An Intratec TEC-22 is used by Bruce (Bruce Penhall) during the shootout at the Molokai airport. He's not seen using it on further occasions.
Shotguns
SWD/Cobray Street Sweeper
The SWD/Cobray Street Sweeper features prominently, being used by both Bruce and Donna at the Pacific island during the rescue misson.
During the final shootout, Skip uses what is most likely a reproduction of a Colt Model 1878 recognizable by the distinctive back receiver with two hammers.
Miscellaneous
M33 Hand Grenade
The pilot of the plane taking Donna to a secret location (uncredited actor) carries both an M33 as well as a M26 hand grenade. She takes the M33 off him and threatens to destroy the plane with it.
M26 Hand Grenade
The other grenade that the pilot’s carrying is a M26 hand grenade, in addition to the above mentioned M33.
High Heel Grenade
When Edy and Lucas are being attacked at the marina, Edy unscrews one of her high heels and Lucas throws it at attackers. It turns out to be some sort of grenade, inclusive an old-style red warning light…
Fake Browning AN/M2
The gyrocopter that Raven flies around in is equipped with several fake weapons. Next to the obvious fake missiles (seen moving along a string when launched!), there’s a machine gun in the front. At first sight it looks like a Browning AN/M2 but because of the limited space, it’s probably some metal tube with holes in it.
Several alternative covers for this movie circulate on the internet, most prominently (variations on) below two versions. The cover on the left seems most accurate, with Nicole (left) carrying an Intratec TEC-22 and Donna (right) carrying a Smith & Wesson 3913 “Ladysmith” (does not appear in the movie).
The cover on the right, however, seems to bear no relation to this movie at all. Donna (left) is for some reason is carrying a Steyr AUG A1 (does not appear in the movie) but the lady on the right (with crossbow and Davis P-32) seems to be a character from another Andy Sidaris movie.
