M1917 Chemical Hand Grenade
The Russian Army adopted The Model 1917 chemical hand grenade in 1917. It was designed by Vladimir Rdultovsky who also designed RG-14 hand grenade. M1917 grenades were filled mostly with Chloropicrin. They were used in WW1 and in the Russian Civil war. The last manual for this grenade appeared in 1927. There is no accurate information when M1917 was withdrawn from service.
