Sniper Elite V2
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Sniper Elite V2 is a tactical shooter video game released in May 2012.
The following weapons were used in the game Sniper Elite V2:
Handguns
Welrod Mark I
The British Mark I Welrod Pistol, can be used for stealth kills at close range. The weapon is incorrectly depicted with the front sight at the muzzle rather than halfway along the weapon, a configuration only found on a Mark II. Being bolt action, it has the slowest ROF of all pistols.
Colt M1911A1
The M1911A1 is the first handgun you unlock, it isn't suppressed but has a higher ROF than the Welrod.
Luger P08
The Luger P08 sacrifices minute amounts of damage in exchane for one round more than the Colt, making it a worthy alternative.
Webley Mk VI
The Webley Mk VI is added by The Neudorf Outpost Pack DLC. The Webley is an almost guarenteed one shot one kill weapon, however it's hammer must be cocked after every shot making it a little ungainly in a pinch.
Tokarev TT-33
The Tokarev TT-33 is added by the St. Pierre DLC. It has the highest ROF of all pistols and holds the same amount of ammunition as the Luger, however it is the weakest.
Sniper Rifles
M1903A4 Springfield Sniper Rifle
The M1903A4 Springfield is the first rifle available to the player. It has a decent ROF for a bolt action but is weaker and has a worse zoom than most of it's contemporaries.
Mosin Nagant
Found in 4th mission with a scope. It has a better zoom and is more powerful than the Springfield.
Gewehr 43
The only semi-auto rifle that can be aquired without DLC. Strangely the magazine holds only 7 rounds compared to the real world 10.
Karabiner 98k
Pre-order bonus, unlocked from the start, or with purchase of the "Kill Hitler" DLC. It is also seen in Fairburne's hands on the front cover of the game box and in the menu diorama.
SVT-40
Pre-order bonus, unlocked from the start, or with purchase of the "Kill Hitler" DLC. Semi-auto with 10 round mag.
Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III*
The Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* is added by "The Landwehr Canal Pack" DLC. It is the fastest bolt action rifle in the game.
Arisaka Type 99
The Arisaka Type 99 is added by "The Landwehr Canal Pack" DLC. The choice of the Type 97 is odd, as the entire game takes place in the European Theater, however it is arguable that an elite operative on such an operation would be able to choose any gear they so wished. It has the slowest ROF of all rifles, but is the most powerful.
M1 Carbine
A scoped M1 Carbine is added by "The Neudorf Outpost Pack" DLC. It has the fastest ROF of any rifle, but also the weakest zoom and the weakest cartridge.
M1-D Garand
The M1-D Garand is added by the St. Pierre DLC.
Assault Rifles
Sturmgewehr 44
The Sturmgewehr 44 is added by "The Landwehr Canal Pack" DLC as the MP44. It's accuracy is relatively poor, and as ammunition can't be found on dead foes, it is a poor choice.
Submachine Guns
M1A1 Thompson
The M1A1 Thompson is best compared to the MP40, which is just about as accurate, however the Thompson has a higher ROF, higher recoil and higher damage than it's German counterpart. No enemies use the weapon making resupply problematic.
MP40
The low ROF of the MP40 helps maintain it's accuracy, especially in short bursts.
PPSh-41
First found in the 4th mission with round drum. Has the biggest magazine and highest ROF of any SMG. It is however woefully inaccurate and uses a weaker round compared to alternative SMGs.
Blyskawica
The Blyskawica submachine gun is added by the St. Pierre DLC. An improved Polish modification of the simple British Sten, manufactured in secret underground factories in the Warsaw Ghetto by the Polish resistance. Less than 1000 were ever made, so it would be extremely unlikely that any could be aquired by the allies. It performs similarly to the Thompson, only with better accuracy and less recoil, making it a superb choice if used sparingly.
Machine Guns
MG42
MG42s are seen throughout the game as emplaced weapons.
Grenades
Model 24 Stielhandgranate
First grenade the player unlocks.
F-1 hand grenade
Found in 4th mission, more powerful but less throwing distance.
Type 97
The Japanese Type 97 grenade is used in game as a booby trap. The choice of the Type 97 is odd, as the entire game takes place in the European Theater, however it is possible the developers wanted to visually differentiate trip mines from the other grenades.
Others
Panzerfaust
Found in mission 7 and 9, the Panzerfaust is a German, single shot, anti-tank weapon. It cannot be unlocked, and fills up the secondary weapon slot when picked up.
Lee Enfield No.4 Mk 1
In some of the missions which feature Russians, Lee Enfield rifles can be seen propped up against crates in Russian camps. It is unusable, cannot be picked up or unlocked (it is also worth mentioning that the Lee Enfield was most likely intended to be part of the game, as sound files for it can be found in the game's directory).
