Ip Man is a 2008 martial arts movie staring Donnie Yen as Ip Man, the master of Bruce Lee. It revolves around his time in Foshan during the Japanese occupation of China. The film is only indirectly a biography and takes a lot of creative license in portraying the events around Ip Mans time there.

The following weapons were used in the film Ip Man:

Ip Man (2008)

Nambu Type 14

The sidearm of the Japanese Colonel Sato (Shibuya Tenma) is a Nambu Type 14 pistol. It is used twice throughout the film. First to shoot a fighter after an arena match, the second time during the films climax. Note that the one in the movie has a fully rounded trigger guard unlike the one pictured in the preview image provided below. In several scenes a rubber prop was used in place of the real Nambu Type 14.

Arisaka Type 99

The primary weapon of all Japanese soldiers is the Type 99 Arisaka rifle.
