House of Saddam
House of Saddam is the 2008 four part drama detailing the rise and fall of Iraq's most infamous president, Saddam Hussein. Currently shown on BBC Four and BBC iPlayer services. If you plan on watching the series, please be aware that there may be spoilers in the descriptions. Read at your own risk.
Handguns
Walther/Manurhin PPK
In the first episode, the first gun that is clearly seen is a Walther PPK, although with markings along the slide which indicate it may have been made by the French outfit Manurhin under license from Walther.
The gun is used to preform 'executions' of 22 members of the Ba'ath party members and used by Saddam Personally to kill his best friend and ally Adnan Hamdani.
Beretta Cheetah 84F
Now a slightly older Uday Hussein loses control of himself in a Baghdad nightclub shortly after Iraq declairs 'victory' over Iran. He fires his Beretta 84F wildly into the crowd, understandably causing panic. Uday, however, 'persuades' the crowd to act and behave normally. Uday also uses the pistol to intimidate Kamel Hana.
Colt M1911A1
The gun is seen first at a gun range which is used by Saddam and his military advisers. It is then used by Saddam in threatening Uday in the prison cell after Uday kills Kamel Hana.
Unknown Revolver
Uday confronts General Hussein Kamel when they are loading medical supplies onto trucks to be sold onto the black market.
Walther P38
Ali Hassan al-Majid, uncle to General Hussein Kamel and his brother Saddam Kamel, fires his P38 at his nephews. In the real gunfight in February 1996, the battle lasted over 13 hours resulting in the deaths of both Hussein and Saddam. In the episode, the gunfight is severely shortened, lasting only a few minutes, with Hussein being shot multiple times and killed by Ali Hassan's P38.
The P38 is also used by Saddam himself during his hiding, as well as the personnel he keeps around him.
Rifles
M1 Garand
While hunting in Tikrit, both Saddam and his son Uday use an M1 Garand
AKM's & AK-47's
Variants of the AK-47 assault rifle are used many times throughout the series. They are also mentioned on the attempted assassination of Saddam Hussein. Many of Saddam's men and infantry carry AK-47s or AKMs.
Also, in the final shootout, Mustapha (Qusay's son) holds an AK-47 to stop US troops from entering Uday and Qusay's safehouse, even though he is clearly nervous and does not know how to fire effectively.
M16A1
The M16 is used many times in the latter part of the series, often seen as a replacement for the AK-47. It is used by Saddam's army and also by General Hussein Kamal and his brother Col. Saddam Kamel during the shootout which claims both their lives.
In a similar shootout, Uday and Qusay fight for their lives with the same gun. Also, many if not all of the 101st Airborne Division are depicted as using the M16A1 with a few differences, for example some are fitted with M203 launchers (below) or laser aiming devices.
Other
M203 + M16A1
An M203 grenade launcher can be seen briefly under an M16A2, held by an American 101st Airborne soldier.
BGM-71 TOW
In the closing stages of the gunfight between Saddam's sons and a section of the 101st Airborne, a rocket from a BGM-71 TOW launcher (mounted on a HMMWV) is fired at Uday and Qusay, killing them and Qusay's son.
