Europa Europa (German title:Hitlerjunge Salomon ; Hitler Youth Salomon) is a 1990 German-Polish-French film by Agnieszka Holland. Shortly before the beginning of the war, the Jewish family Perel flees from the Nazis and settles in the Polish Lódz. But the Nazis catch up with them, and in the turmoil of the occupation, the brothers Sally and David are separated from the family and try to make their way into the USSR. The brothers also lose sight of each other. Sally lodges in a Soviet orphanage. After the German invasion, he is captured by Wehrmacht soldiers and pretends to be Volksdeutscher . Sally becomes the darling of the troupe as Josef Periel, becomes a hero, and is even sent to a Nazi elite school.

Karabiner 98ks are used by German soldiers including Ulmayer (Martin Maria Blau), Robert Kellermann (André Wilms), and the Feldwebel (Sergeant) (Bernhard Howe).
