Calico Series of Rifles and Pistols
The Following Calico weapons were seen in the following movies, TV shows, and video games:
Calico M100
- The Calico M100 is a .22 LR rifle that usually comes with a 100 round .22 LR helical tubular magazine and has a collapsible stock. It first came out in the 1980s and was probably one of the most unusual and futuristic looking firearms of it's time.
Film
- Used by Bill Pullman, John Candy, Daphne Zuniga and Imperial soldiers in Spaceballs
- Used by ICS Guards in The Running Man
- Used by Cynthia Brimhall as Edy Stark in Do or Die
Television
- Used as a standard issue UEO Pulse Rifle in seaQuest DSVs second season.
Anime
- Used by bodyguard in Riding Bean
Calico M110
This is a smaller version of the M-100 .22LR Pistol. It is frequently called the M-100P, which was the older model this replaced, Calico no longer sells the M-100P. The bolt was changed to make it slightly lighter and the feed lip changed in the magazine. The parts are mostly interchangeable, the only modification for older 100P would be that you'd need to have minor modifications to the barrel to use the current magazine design.
Film
Television
- Used as a UEO Pulse Gun in seaQuest DSVs second season.
Video Games
- Found by Claire early on in Resident Evil: Code Veronica. (It was listed as a M-100P)
Calico M900
- The Calico M951 is a select fire version of the nearly identical M900 Semi Auto Carbine, except the 951 has a special compensator (much like a mini Cutts Compensator).
Film
- Used by Cyrez Corporation security guards in the movie Eraser, note, they also carried M955A Calicos as well.
- Alfre Woodard as Lily Sloane in Star Trek: First Contact
Television
- Used occasionally as a UEO Pulse Rifle in SeaQuest DSVs second season.
- Modified the barrel and had M951 style fore grips added and was used as the standard issue UEO Pulse Rifle in SeaQuest 2032.
Video Games
- 007: Quantum of Solace (VG) (As the TLD22)
- Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn, 1995) Used by GDI soldiers in certain cut scenes and in the booklet wrongly portrayed as an 'assault rifle' (since the Calico only fires a pistol caliber cartridge, it is most accurately portrayed as a submachine gun or full auto carbine).
- Wing Commander Prophecy Used by Commodore Blair (Mark Hamill) and Colonel Dekker (Jeremy Roberts)
Calico M950/950A
- The Calico M950 is the pistol version of the 9mm carbine. It is also available in a full auto version, the M950A, however, movie armorers have converted M950 semi-automatic pistols to emulate the M950A in films, thus contributing to the confusing array of variants appearing in films that fire fully automatic. The M950A from the factory has a pistol foregrip to aid in barrel climb during full auto fire. In some films like I Come In Peace, the gun is a converted M950 (with an accelerated rate of fire) but the foregrip was not installed since blanks don't create the muzzle climb that live rounds do. Neither the M950 nor the M950A have a retractable stock, nor can one be installed on that type of receiver, so if you see a retractable stock, it is not one of these models.
Film
- Tony Leung as Alan in Hard Boiled
- Portrayed as a science fiction pulse weapon in I Come In Peace. The actors who used it were (Dolph Lundgren as Jack Caine, Brian Benben as Laurence Smith, Mathias Hues as Talec and Jay Bilas as Aleck.
