M1911A1

A Nickel plated version with Ivory grips of the 1911 is used by Colonel Curtis (Morgan Freeman) and later by Lieutenant Owen Underhill (Tom Sizemore). Curtis claims its a gift from John Wayne but i can't imagine him with such a sissy pistol and the fact he would give it to an alien hunter.

What exactly makes it "sissy"? Ivory grips and factory engraving make it a very respectable weapon. Gen. Patton would have likely carried this weapon. Pearl grips on the other hand... - Gunmaster45

n sorry that was an ignorant observation on my part i meant to delete that comment but forgot to. my comment on the alien hunter still stands though.

a gun that has a hundred year old design and over 100-year-old round ans is still being made and used is not a sissy pistol. the US army used it as a side are for around 70 years. special forces and some S.W.A.T team still use the M1911. it's a warhorse which they still can find a use for
