The Godfather (VG)
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following guns were used in the 2006 video game The Godfather:
Handguns
Colt Detective Special
Called just the "Snubnose" in the game, the Colt Detective Special can be bought as the Saturday night special" which has gold plating and an ivory handle. It is said to be the most silent and the weakest of the handguns in the game. An enhanced version of this revolver called the Black Widow can be added on.
Colt M1911A1
The M1911A1 is called just "Pistol" in the game. There is an Assassin version of this pistol that can be picked up by a gun merchant. It is given black paint and kills with one shot. The original holds 8 rounds. The extended level 2 gun holds 10 and the Assassins carries 14 rounds. This gun is more of a Browning Hi-Power then a Colt M1911A1 when it becomes the assassins pistol. The level 4 version is called the Herzstopper and can be added on.
Colt Official Police
The Colt Official Police is called "Magnum" in the game. In reality this gun fires .38 Special just like the "Snubnose". It is said to rival the "Shotgun" in power in the game. This can be upgraded to the "Python" which is gold plated with an ivory handle, has 8 rounds and is much more powerful. The Lvl 4 Magnum is called the "Annihilator".
Shotguns
Winchester Model 1912
The Winchester Model 1912 is called the "long-barreled shotgun" in game. It has a strange reloading scheme: despite being pump-action, you can fire 2 shots before you have to actually pump it. As one would expect from the "shotgun" of the game, this gun does nice work at close range shootouts. The shotgun can be upgraded to a "Street Sweeper" which has a 10 round drum and has rapid fire. However, despite being an obvious reference to the real-life Street-Sweeper shotgun - which also fires rapidly from a drum - this is not the same weapon, as it looks significantly different, and the real Street-Sweeper was first invented and designed much later on.
Double-Barreled Shotgun Sawed-Off
The Double-Barreled Shotgun Sawed-Off appears as "Double Barrel Shotgun", and was an upgrade for the Winchester M1897.
Lupara
If you are a member of the Playstation store you can buy an add on content that gives you an automatic shotgun that you can pick up from a merchant in the game. This is the Lvl 4 Shotgun. It is also available on Xbox Live as downloadable content.
Submachine Guns
M1A1 Thompson
The anachronistic M1A1 Thompson is called inside the game only by its nickname, "Tommy Gun". It will load from drum magazines, while the handguard is replaced with the foregrip normally found on the 1921/1928 Thompson variants. It inaccurately carries only 25 rounds, when in reality the drum magazine houses a plentiful 50 rounds. A Tommy Gun can be bought with a correctly 50 round drum as "Modified Tommy Gun".
Colt M1921A Thompson
The M1921A Thompson appears as the "Dillinger" or "Lvl 3 Tommy Gun"; it has a 20 round magazine (who holds 75 ammo, which is inaccurate) and has a removed butt stock. This is a reference to John Dillinger.
"Spectre Minigun"
If you are a member of the Playstation store, you can buy an add on content that gives you an heavy-modified M1A1 Thompson that you can pick up from a merchant in the game. This evil mutation has a 4 barrels and drum magazine. This is called the "Lvl 4 Tommy Gun" or "Spectre Minigun". It is also available on Xbox Live as downloadable content.
