Northern Limit Line (Korean title:연평해전) is a 2015 South Korean war film, directed by Kim Hak-soon. It is based on the true events of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong in June 2002, a conflict in the Yellow Sea near Yeonpyeong Island, between Korean People's Navy and ROK Navy patrol boats. During the battle, 1 patrol boat was sunk, 6 men killed, 19 wounded for the ROK Navy, whereas 1 patrol boat was seriously damaged, 13 men killed, and 25 wounded for the KPN.
The following weapons are seen in Northern Limit Line:
The K5 Pistol appears as sidearm of Lieutenant Yoon Young-ha (Kim Mu-yeol), and also appears in a flashback scene of a young Yoon Doo-ho (Sunwoo Jae-duk), the father of Lieutenant Yoon. The flashback scene is based on true incident that occurred on June 29, 1970.
Daewoo K2s appear as the main service rifle of ROK Navy patrol boat crewmen. The usual main service rifle of the ROK Navy is the M16A1, but patrol boat crewmen are issued the K2 Rifle since they deserve as the spearhead of the ROK Navy.
A ZB26 Machine Gun appears as machine gun used by a KPN patrol boat. It uses a 'banana-clip' style magazine, probably substituting for the Type 73 light machine gun.
