Revision as of 12:24, 11 November 2014
The following guns were used in the British ITV television series Primeval:
Stephen(James Murray) uses a Beretta 92FS Inox as his personal sidearm. He possesses at least two of these pistols. Helen Cutter also uses a Beretta 92FS Inox halfway through season 3.
Glock 17 (3rd Gen.)
London Police Officer Danny Quinn (Jason Flemyng) carries a 3rd generation Glock 17 as his sidearm.
Glock 17 (2nd Gen.)
When a future species of giant borrowing beetles prove to be able to resist the non-lethal EMD's effects, the ARC team decides to use some more conventional weapons stored in the ARC's armory, primarily several 2nd generation Glock 17 pistols.
Ethan Dobrowski (Jonathyn Byrne) uses a Walther P99 during the season 4 finale. Unlike Connor's P99, this prop is either a blank-converted P99 or a blank-firing replica, as it locks open when Ethan empties his first magazine.
In a continuity error in season 3, Episode 10, Becker's MP5SD3 turns into a Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW after being broken by a Megopteran.
FN P90
Captain Wilder (Alex McSweeney), Christine Johnson's head of security, carries a FN P90 as his primary weapon.
Rifles
Heckler & Koch G36C
The Heckler & Koch G36C is commonly seen in the hands of the soldiers under the command of the Home Office and the ARC facility.
Heckler & Koch G36K
Some of the soldiers in the show occasionally use Heckler & Koch G36K carbines when in more open environments. These rifles are outfitted in the same manner as their G36Cs.
M4A1 Carbine
A large number of M4A1 Carbines are seen throughout the series in the hands of various government operatives. Most of these rifles are outfitted with railed handguards, flashlights, vertical foregrips, and red-dot sights.
SIG SG 552
Helen Cutter's clone soldiers in season 3 are armed with SIG SG 552 assault rifles.
Stephen has a Accuracy International AWSM sniper rifle in his weapons cache, although he never actually uses it onscreen.
Shotguns
Single-Barrel Breach-Load Shotgun
The Anomaly research team frequently uses a stainless-steel 12 gauge single-barreled breach-loading shotgun with black synthetic furniture, rails, Red Dot Sight, flashlight, and bipod. This gun, like others on the show, impersonates a tranquilizer gun. The ARC team possesses at least two of these weapons.
Side-by-Side Shotgun
A handful of civilians in more rural areas are seen using double-barreled shotguns. All of these are likely the same prop.
Armsel Striker
One of the SpecOps soldiers in the season 3 opener is armed with an Armsel Striker shotgun.
Mossberg 590 Cruiser
Captain Becker uses a Mossberg 590 Cruiser shotgun with a door-breaching muzzle break during the third season.
Mossberg 500 Cruiser
When a future giant burrowing beetle proves resistant to the EMDs and forces the team to resort to conventional firearms, Becker uses a Mossberg 500 Cruiser with a silver finish.
Machine Guns
L110A1 (FN M249 Paratrooper)
The L110A1 (the British military issued FN M249 Paratrooper) light machine gun makes occasional appearances throughout the series.
Grenade Launchers
H&K AG36 Grenade Launcher
Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield) has a short-barreled Heckler & Koch AG36 Grenade Launcher mounted to the handguard of his G36C. This prop is actually an airsoft launcher made by Madbull called the AGX, and can be distinguished from a real AG36 due to it's short barrel and Picatinny rail-compatible mounting system.
One of the ARC team's specialized weapons is a high-powered speargun.
Flamethrower
When a future fungus turns its host into a monster in the London underground, the ARC team tries to corner the creature with a number of flamethrowers.
Stun Grenade
Becker carries several unidentified grenades (referred to by Becker as "Stun Grenades").
Electro Muscular Disruption weapons
In season four, the ARC program is restructured and most of the weapons used by the ARC teams are retired to the armory and replaced with a fictional weapon series referred to as Electro Muscular Disruption weapons, or "EMD" for short (the EMD props appear to be built out of some sort of power tool, possibly a nail gun). The exact mechanics of these weapons are not elaborated on, but they are described as being similar in concept to a Taser in that their primary effect is to administer a strong electrical shock to whatever they hit. EMD shots also appear to have a kinetic effect on targets, as smaller creatures hit by an EMD are often sent reeling from the impact and the shots are capable of ricocheting off of flat metal surfaces. The power of each shot is widely adjustable, and there are four different EMD configurations seen in the show. All EMDs are outfitted with flashlights while in the field.
EMD Pistol
The smallest EMD variant is a basic pistol configuration, and is frequently used by both Abby (Hannah Spearritt) and Connor (Andrew Lee Potts) in place of their pistols from the previous seasons.
EMD Two-Handed Pistol
Similar to the pistol EMD variant, this EMD features a shortened barrel and lacks a stock, but features the vertical foregrip seen on larger EMD variants.
EMD Carbine
A medium-sized variant, this EMD features a short barrel (just a few inches longer than the EMD pistol barrel), two vertical foregrips, and a tube stock. This version is commonly seen in the hands of the various unnamed ARC soldiers.
EMD Rifle
The largest EMD variant is a full-sized rifle with a full-length barrel and a (possibly adjustable) stock. This is the variant that Matt Anderson (Ciarán McMenamin) and Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield) use the most.
