Henry Camerero (Albert Paulsen) appears to be armed with a Smith & Wesson M76 submachine gun that has the barrel shroud removed. In some movie posters for the film, different SMG's are depicted as being used, including the MP40 and the Star Model Z45.
Smith & Wesson Model 15 Snub
SFPD Detective Sergeant Jake Martin (Walter Matthau) and Inspector Leo Larsen (Bruce Dern) are seen carrying the Smith & Wesson Model 15 Snub as their sidearm in the film.

A barricaded shooter uses an M16A1. SFPD SWAT officers are also armed with the rifle.
