Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze (1975) is a movie based on the novel of the same title by Lester Dent. Doc Savage (Ron Ely), the famous adventurer, learns that his father was killed in the (fictional) South American republic of Hidalgo. Doc along with his loyal friends, Long Tom (Paul Gleason), Renny (William Lucking), Monk (Michael Miller), Johnny (Eldon Quick) and Ham (Darrell Zwerling), heads out to Hidalgo, where he finds out, that a tribe of natives gave a piece of their land to Savage Sr. and that he was killed for it by the evil captain Seas (Paul Wexler).
A sequel, Doc Savage: The Arch Enemy of Evil, was announced at the end of the movie, however because of the movies poor box office performance, the plans for the sequel were scrapped.
The following weapons were used in the film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze:
Colt Police Positive
Most of captain Seas' henchmen carry Colt Police Positive revolvers.
Ruger Mk I.
Doc Savage carries a Ruger Mk I. pistol, which is appropriately enough bronze plated. However, the appearance of this kind of pistol is somewhat anachronistic, since the plot takes place in 1936.
M1911A1
Captain Seas carries a nickel plated M1911A1 pistol.
Winchester Model 70
An indian assassin (Dar Robinson) tries to kill Doc Savage with a Winchester Model 70 sniper rifle. Doc calls it an elephant gun.
Double-Barreled Shotgun
When Doc is attacked by a pair of magical serpents created by an indian witchdoctor, he tries to kill them with a double barreled shotgun he takes down from the wall, but it proves to be useless.
Mauser Karabiner 98K
The soldiers of the army of Hidalgo as well as some of Seas' henchmen carry Karabiner 98K rifles.
Thompson M1928
Captain Seas tries to kill Doc and his comrades with a Thompson M1928 submachinegun. Some of his henchmen also carry the same type of machinegun.
Browning M2
Borden (Scott Walker), a pilot working for Seas, attack Doc's airplane with an airplane armed with two Browning M2 machine guns, which are mocked up to look like a Vickers machine guns.
