Predators is the latest installment in the Predator movie franchise that began with 1987's Predator and continued with 1990's Predator 2. The 2010 sequel was produced by Robert Rodriguez and stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who finds himself stranded on a strange planet along with seven other 'human' predators.
See the Discussion section for some more behind the scenes images from the film.
The following weapons were used in the film Predators:
AA-12
Royce (Adrien Brody) carries an AA-12 automatic 12 Gauge shotgun throughout the movie, it is fitted with a drum magazine loaded with Frag-12 rounds, and fitted with a Surefire M900 weaponlight foregrip. The custom camo paint appears to be similar to the US Army's pixelized UCP. The Army Combat Uniform (ACU) uses a new military camouflage pattern called the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), which blends green, tan, and gray to work effectively in desert, woodland, and urban environments. Similar to the United States Marine Corps MARPAT and Canadian CADPAT camouflage schemes that preceded it, the pattern design is based on research into Dual Texture (Dual-Tex) Camouflage conducted in the 1970s. The color scheme of the Army Combat Uniform is composed of a slate gray, desert sand and foliage green pixel pattern, which becomes darker or lighter depending on exposure to sunlight. The shade black was omitted from the uniform since it does not exist in nature.
M134 Hand held Minigun
Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov), a member of the Spetsnaz Alpha Group carries a hand-held M134 Minigun substituting for a GShG-7.62, or a Slostin machine gun that is described in the script, reminiscent of the gun used by Jesse Ventura in the original film. When Nikolai first uses the Minigun a stoppage occurs. Nikolai is forced to fix the jam and reload the weapon. Nikolai later uses the Minigun to slay two Predator hounds and to lay down suppressing fire on Predators before the gun is destroyed in battle by a well aimed shot from a Predator Plasmacaster. A lot of the firing scenes were shot with a prop weapon with a CG muzzle flash added. When the weapon is first introduced a real gun is used for some closeups while Nikolai is firing it.
Blaser R93 LRS2
Isabelle (Alice Braga), an IDF sniper, carries a Blaser R93 Sniper Rifle fitted with an Elcan DigitalHunter scope (substituting for the Heckler & Koch PSG1 described in the script). In several scenes, we hear the scope adjusting even though she isn't hitting any of the buttons. Isabelle uses this weapon to take down Predator hounds and uses it to wound a Predator near the film's finale. She also attempts to take down another hunted alien but after what appears to be a great shot at a fast moving target, she notes that she actually missed.
AKMS
Mombasa (Mahershalalhashbaz Ali) , a member of an RUF death squad, carries an AKMS rifle with the stock folded up throughout the movie, he once uses it to save Stans from an attacking Predator Hound when they first encounter them.
Heckler & Koch MP5K
Cuchillo (Danny Trejo), a Mexican Drug Cartel enforcer, is seen with two Heckler & Koch MP5K's fitted with braided leather covers on the foregrips strapped to his back, in a manner similar to Chuck Norris' Mini Uzi harness in Invasion U.S.A..
http://www.predators-movie.com/wallpapers/wallpaper6_standard.jpg mp5k's have Native American covers on the foregrips, also appears to be linked up to shoulder rigs like Alice's from Resident Evil Apocalypse
Heckler & Koch HK45 w' Compensator
The main sidearm of Isabelle (Alice Braga). She draws it to face a Predator Hound after her rifle runs dry. She fires a couple of rounds at an approaching hound to no avail then prepares to kill herself with it for a painless death before the Predator Hound can get her, only to be saved at the last minute when the Predators call the Hounds back.
Custom Beretta 92FS Inox
A custom Beretta 92FS Inox with custom grips and a compensator is carried by Hanzo (Louis Changchien), a Yakuza assassin who uses it until he acquires a katana from Noland's weapon cache.
M1911A1
When the group finds the dead American he is grasping an empty M1911A1 with the slide locked back indicating that it is out of ammunition.
Tokarev TT-33
After his Minigun is destroyed by one of the Predators, Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov) is seen using a Tokarev TT-33 he was carrying. He fires it at a Predator in Noland's hideout when he goes back to save Edwin.
Mk 2 hand grenade
Several Mk 2 hand grenades are seen among the weapons in Noland's (Laurence Fishburne) arsenal. Royce (Adrien Brody) later strings several of them together in a trap for the 'Berserker' Predator.
M18A1 Claymore
When Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov) sees Noland's weapons cache, he eyes a M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel mine on the table. Nikolai apparently grabbed the Claymore mine offscreen, because he is seen using it prominently later.
Noland's weapons cache
When the group are taken to Noland's cave, they see he's collected a mixture of weapons, some human and some alien; most noteably a Phase Plasma rifle in 40 watt range. There's also a grenade launcher of some sort, used to fire a flare.
