damn the budget for this film must have been REALLY low cause a Remington 770 is A. NOT the rifle of choice for the F.B.I. and B. not really the best rifle out there....it's more of a package deal rifle for someone who is just getting started in hunting | |||

New York is a 2009 Bollywood Hindi film. This film is about three students studying at the fictional New York State University whose lives are changed by 9/11. This film is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. Following firearms were seen in this film.
M4 Carbine
A New York Police Department SWAT member aims an Colt M4 carbine with a S.I.R.S. rail system. The firearm appears to be an airsoft version, being that the lower receiver is pristine and the receiver pins are not flush but extended, like the pins on the guns of such major Airsoft companies as Classic Army, Tokyo Marui, G&G, etc.
M16A2 Rifle with A1 handguards
In an interesting twist, we see M16 (or AR15) rifles which begin as standard A2 variants, with A1 style triangular handguards. The barrels are obviously the heavy A2 barrels and the upper receiver has the adjustable rear sight of the A2 and the brass deflector. This is also an Airsoft weapon, judging by the receiver pins, which are protruding (like most Airsoft M16 variants) versus flush like the real firearm.
Glock 17
Hudson Replica AK-47
Seen in the trunk of a taxi cab owned by Omar (Neil Nitin Mukesh), a young Muslim man originally from Delhi. It is a Hudson Company Replica AK-47. This is a common Japanese All metal replica AK47 used in films and television shows.
Unidentified toy guns
Beneath the replica AK-47 are a series of plastic toy guns of various designs, none of which are identical to a real weapon.
Beretta 92FS
Omar (Neil Nitin Mukesh) was given a Beretta 92FS by the FBI in order to spy on a former college friend, Sam or Samir Sheikh (John Abraham), whom he hasn't seen in seven years and who the FBI believes is a terrorist.
Colt Python
Beretta M84 Cheetah
Malik is from Pakistan, and an allie of Samir Sheikh. He came to New York via Germany and he uses a Beretta M84 Cheetah.
CZ-75
A nickel plated CZ 75 pistol is seen in the hands of Zaheer, who is also from Pakistan and living in New York for last 8 years. He is an illegal immmigrant. He is one of Samir Sheikh's allies.
Heckler & Koch USP Compact
In a scene, Sam or Samir Sheikh (John Abraham) along with his Allies gather in a place near the Brooklyn bridge. Omar was with Sam at that time. Sam took the gun (Heckler & Koch USP Compact) out of Yaqubs pocket and asked Omar to shoot Yaqub who violated their trust.
This is actually the 8mm theatrical blank replica version of the USP Compact as made in Spain. The giveaway is the small gas release hole at the top of the barrel, which allows the blast to escape through the top of the gun, since these are 'blocked barreled' weapons.
Remington 770 Sport
In the climax of the film Samir Sheikh (John Abraham) and Maya (Katrina Kaif) were shot and killed by FBI snipers.
damn the budget for this film must have been REALLY low cause a Remington 770 is A. NOT the rifle of choice for the F.B.I. and B. not really the best rifle out there....it's more of a package deal rifle for someone who is just getting started in hunting
