AS Val
The AS Val is an Assault Rifle version of the VSS Vintorez. Its main differences are that the AS Val is equipped with a folding stock, possesses a 20-round magazine capacity (also usable by the VSS Vintorez), and it uses a slightly different 9X39mm round. It can use a PSO-1 scope as well.
Unlike most assault rifles, the AS Val is not designed to fire without its integral suppressor attached, and to that end its front sights are mounted on the end of the suppressor rather than on the end of the barrel as is the case for most assault rifles. Current version of the AS Val move the front sight to the handguard to facilitate un-suppressed use.

SR-3 Vikhr
The Vikhr (meaning "Whirlwind" in Russian), based on the AS Val, is an ultracompact assault rifle with a 20-round magazine capacity developed for use by VIP protection teams and State Security operatives. Unlike its parent firearms, it cannot mount a suppressor, integral or otherwise.
A more recent variant, the SR-3M ("M" for "modernized") was developed as a more versatile alternative for Law Enforcement. It features a 30-round magazine capacity, a collapsible foregrip in the handguard, the ability to mount a detachable suppressor similar to that of its parent firearms', a front sight mounted on the handguard, and a redesigned folding stock.
