Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov), a member of the Russian VDV Paratroops carries a hand-held M134 Minigun substituting for a GShG 7.62mm machinegun thats described in the script, reminiscent of the gun used by Jesse Ventura in the original film. This weapon uses an old style set of GE barrel clamps as well as a Y-frame attached to recoil absorbers. Modern Miniguns in film, much like their real life counterparts, forgo the recoil absorbers and have their custom grips attached directly to the gun housing. Unlike the backpack unit in the original Predator, this one appears to incorporate a power supply as well as ammunition.
