Black Sunday (1977)

M1911A1

Palestinian terrorist leader Nageeb (Victor Campos) attempts to grab a Colt M1911A1 from his bedstand before being shot by Israeli commandos during a raid in Beirut. A disguised Israeli commando is also seen wielding a M1911A1 as the commandos flee the terrorist villa.

Major David Kabakov (Robert Shaw) uses a Colt Detective Special when he chases a Palestinian terrorist named Mohammed Fasil through the streets of Miami, shooting the terrorist after an extended standoff. Kabakov later uses the revolver to shoot at the Goodyear blimp piloted by Michael Lander (Bruce Dern) as he attempts to carry out his attack at the Super Bowl.

Colt New Service Revolver

A suppressed revolver is used by Major David Kabakov to threaten businessman E. Muzi (Michael V. Gazzo) into identifying who had purchased explosives for use in a potential terrorist attack. The revolver appears to be a large framed Colt revolver. The New Service large frame revolver was discontinued in 1941. Colt did not resume manufacturing large framed revolvers until the Anaconda in the eighties.despite the supressor it is possible that the revolver is a "Fitz Special", based on the short barrel. However it does not appear that the hammer has been bobbed - another characteristic of a Colt Fitz Special.

Colt New Service 1935-1936 .357 Magnum. Prior to the moden day magnum revolvers like the Colt Python.

Walther PPK Pistol

During the scene that takes place in Major Kabakov's (Robert Shaw) hospital room his partner, Robert Moshevsky (Steven Keats), removes his sports jacket. It appears that he is wearing a shoulder holster with a Walther PPK in the holster. Since the only thing visible is the pistol's handle it is possible that it is a Walther PP instead.

Most of the World War 2 variations of the M1 Carbine were sent back to the Military Arsenals and retrofitted with the Bayonet Lug and adjustable rear sight. This is the version seen after last 1945 and all the way until the 1960s. This version is seen most often in World War 2 movies, despite being anachronistic for most World War 2 battles.
