Trivia
NbK 39 Grenade Dischargers
Mounted on the side of the Tiger's turret are NbK 39 Grenade Dischargers. They were intended to shoot smoke shells but later frag shells were designed for them.
For the film's production, several of the Russian and German armored vehicles used were well made mockups. Some mock-ups tanks are created on more modern chassis. For this film was created a replica of a Tiger tank. But unfortunately the film was shot without it.
Tiger I Tank
The "White Tiger" depicted in the film appears to be a German Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger I tank. The tank was supposed to be a specially made replica that was reported to have been built from the ground up, but apparently wasn't completed in time for filming. Instead, the tank seen in the film was a Soviet IS-2 that was visually modified to resemble the Tiger.
T-34-85 Tank
The majority of the Russian armor seen in the film are Russian T-34-85 tanks. Models depicting the destroyed tanks were made very high quality.
