Krupp: A Family Between War and Peace is a 2009 German three-part miniseries based on a screenplay by Christian Schnalke and directed by Carlo Rola. It tells the story of the last four generations of the Krupp industrial dynasty, focusing on the two most important figures of the Krupp dynasty in the 20th century, Bertha Krupp and her son Alfried. The dramaturgical bracket of the fictional film is formed by a heated dispute between Bertha and Alfried in 1957, shortly before Bertha's death. Within this framework, the heyday and decline of the company and the Krupp family are recounted in large, chronologically ordered flashbacks via memories, arguments, and a gradual approach to the "sore points" of the family's history.
The following weapons were used in the television series Krupp: A Family Between War and Peace:
Pistols
Luger P08
In Ep. 03 "Untergang & Versöhnung", a Gestapo man and a Waffen SS soldier are seen using Luger P08 pistols.
Colt M1911A1
Colt M1911A1 Pistols are seen in the holsters of American Military Police personnel at Landsberg Prison in the third Episode.
Submachine Guns
MP 40
Some MP40s are carried by Wehrmacht and Waffen SS soldiers.
M1928A1 Thompson
One American soldier is briefly seen with an M1928A1 Thompson.
Rifles
Gewehr 1888/05
Members of the Rote Ruhrarmee (Ruhr Red Army; an army of left-wing workers during the 1920 Ruhr Uprising) and Reichswehr soldiers in Episode 1 "Aufstieg & Leidenschaft" and 2 "Liebe & Verhängnis" are armed with Gewehr 1888/05 rifles.
Mosin Nagant M91/30
At least one of the Rote Ruhrarmee members has an anachronistic Mosin Nagant M91/30.
Mauser Gewehr 1898
What appears to be a Gewehr 1898 is seen in the hands of a Rote Ruhrarmee insurgent in Episode 2 "Liebe & Verhängnis".
Karabiner 98k
The Karabiner 98k is used by Harald von Bohlen und Halbach (Barnaby Metschurat) and German soldiers in Episode 2 "Liebe & Verhängnis".
Mauser Model 1943
German soldiers are also armed with M43 Spanish Mausers. They first appear in the second Episode, set in 1940.
M1 Garand
Several U.S. soldiers can be seen wielding M1 Garands.
M1 Carbine
American soldiers are seen with M1 Carbines in Episode 3.
Unknown Rifles
Some unknown rifles are seen in Episode 1 lying next to dead French soldiers during the battle of Verdun in 1916.
Shotguns
Percussion Shotgun
A Percussion Shotgun is used by Rote Ruhrarmee insurgents.
Drilling
During hunting in Episode 2, Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach (Heino Ferch) and his son Gustav (Theo Trebs) are seen with Drillings. The older Alfried (Benjamin Sadler) carries one in a vision in the third Episode.
Machine Guns
Maxim
An unknown Maxim gun is seen at the end of the first Episode.
MG 42
An MG42 is briefly seen manned by a German soldier in Episode 2. This appearance is an anachronism because this scene took place in 1940.
Browning M2 Aircraft
American soldiers use Browning M2 Aircraft machine guns.
Other
42 cm kurze Marinekanone 14 L/12
In the first episode, a kurze Marinekanone 14 L/12 siege howitzer is seen at the shooting range Meppen in 1915 which appears to be a mix of CGI and a replica.
80 cm Kanone (E)
The 80 cm Kanone (E) railway gun is seen in the second Episode which is completely computer generated in which Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach (Benjamin Sadler) and an engineer talk about the problems.
Engineer: "The problem is the inner barrel. It wears out far beyond the prohitted service life of a hundred rounds."
Alfried: "Up to how much is the hit position good?"
Engineer: "No more than fifteen shots."
Alfried: "We need five transport trains, four superstructure trains, a three-track superstructure line, a two-track firing position, we build a gun on eight five-axle bogies with its own power supply and get the nitro with cooling car to the front; to fire fifteen rounds?!"
Engineer: "One direct hit is enough! The moral effect is resounding."
