Lone Survivor is a 2013 Afghanistan War action drama directed by Peter Berg (Battleship). Based on the best-selling book Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 by former U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the film stars Mark Wahlberg as Luttrell, who was a member of an ill-fated SEAL reconnaissance team that was attacked in the mountains of northeastern Afghanistan during Operation Red Wings on June 28, 2005. The film also stars Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster and Eric Bana, and went into limited release on December 25, 2013, with a wider release on January 14, 2014. Lone Survivor marked the first of four collaborations between Berg and Wahlberg, three of which were based on actual events: 2016's Patriots Day and Deepwater Horizon as well as 2018's Mile 22.
The following weapons were used in the film Lone Survivor:
A Beretta 92FS pistol is used by Matthew "Axe" Axelson (Ben Foster) after he runs out of ammunition for his rifle. Though in reality, the pistol currently preferred by the Navy SEALs is the SIG-Sauer P226 Navy, as an operator, an individual SEAL has wide latitude as to what handgun he wishes to use, and the 92FS/M9 is familiar among members of the military. Another SEAL also draws his Beretta on a CH-47 Chinook pilot.
Makarov PM
A Makarov PM with stainless finish is carried by Taraq (Sammy Sheik), the right hand man of Taliban commander Ahmad Shah (Yousuf Azami). In a struggle, Mohammad Gulab (Ali Suliman) is seen grabbing this pistol.
One of the villagers appears to be armed with a Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Rifles/Carbines
M4A1 Carbine
Lieutenant Michael P. "Murph" Murphy (Taylor Kitsch), Petty Officer 2nd Class Daniel "Danny" Dietz (Emile Hirsch) and other U.S. Navy SEALs use M4A1 Carbines with a variety of attachments, mostly Trijicon ACOG scopes fitted with a Docter mini-reflex sights and M203A1 grenade launchers painted in desert tan camouflage. USAF Pararescue Jumpers and U.S. Army Rangers near the ending of the movie carry M4A1s with Aimpoint CompM2 CCO optics, Trijicon ACOG TA13 scopes and/or EOTech 552 sights with AN/PEQ-2 IR designator and without camouflage paint. At least on U.S. Ranger is armed with a M4A1 with a standard M203 grenade launcher.
Mk 12 Mod 1 SPR
Petty Officer First Class Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg) and Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew "Axe" Axelson (Ben Foster) are both armed with the Mk 12 Mod 1 Special Purpose Rifle in desert tan camouflage. Luttrell's rifle features an A2 fixed stock while Axelson's has a Crane SOPMOD collapsible stock, but both rifles have suppressors, Harris bipods, AN/PEQ-2 IR designators and Leupold MR/T scopes, with Axel's scope mounting a Docter mini-reflex sight.

General Dynamics GAU-17/A
The GAU-17/A Minigun is mounted on MH-60 Black Hawk and HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters.
FN M240D
FN M240D machine guns are mounted on the sides of the CH-47 Chinook helicopters.
Mk 48 Mod 0

Taliban militants use Chinese Type 69 RPG launchers while attacking the SEAL recon team.
