World War Z is a third person shooter developed by Saber Interactive that is loosely based on the book of the same name and set in the same universe as the movie it shares it's name with. In a style similar to Left 4 Dead, players play 4 different survivors spread around various locations such as Moscow, Jerusalem, New York City and Tokyo dealing with massive hordes of zombies as well as various objectives. The guns in-game are broken into 4 different tiers with a few basic types of gun such as shotguns, semi-auto rifles, burst fire rifles and so on.

Tier I

M1911

Labeled in the in-game world as "pistol" the narrative name in the game calls it the (1911 Protector) The pistol starts as the starting Secondary Weapon of every class unless upgraded. The pistol also comes stock with a suppressor so that is a plus, the intensity of "Swarm" attacks is lessen with suppressors.

Glock 18

Labeled in the in-game world as the "Machine Pistol" the narrative name in the game calls it the (Geist 17MP) The pistol looks to modeled after a real world Glock 19 but more named for the Glock 17, due to its performance of a burst fire over a strictly semi-auto mechanics I would more equate the pistol to a Glock 18, as it is more in line with the concept of a machine pistol.

  • Secondary
  • 3 round Burst

Labeled in the in-game world as the "Compact Shotgun" the narrative name in the game calls it the (S890 Shorty) with both its name and look it would be a fair guess that this is just simply a cut down short version of the same real world gun as the Combat shotgun in the game. besides the cosmetic difference it also is used in the secondary weapon slot along with a reduction in capacity of ammo

Unknown Crossbow

Labeled in the in-game world as simply the "Crossbow" the narrative name in the game calls it the (Repeater X) unlike most real world crossbow's the in-game one has explosive bolts, most likely for balance reasons as it would not be all that useful since most weapons can be upgraded to have a suppressor.
